A Mother's Prayer: The Precious Gift Beyond Measure.

A Mother's Prayer: The Precious Gift Beyond Measure.

By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar

I was not born into wealth or luxury, but I was cradled in the arms of a praying and virtuous woman, and this, I must assert, is one of the greatest riches bestowed upon a human being. The prayers of a woman who intimately understands the power, mercy, grace, miracles, and blessings of the Creator are indispensable for a child's growth in this challenging world. For this, I am profoundly grateful to my mother and grandmother, for these two women moved mountains for me, both in the physical and spiritual realms. Through the Creator's grace, I am certain that I would not have navigated life this far without their unwavering prayers and virtuous presence.

My understanding of these extraordinary women deepened only after they were no longer physically present in my life. It is a poignant truth that sometimes, we fully grasp the depth of our blessings only in their absence. As a grown man, I often reflect on the countless spiritual battles these women fought for our family's sake. I recall vividly the worldly struggles they endured, their resilience etched in my memory. I have seen them in the mud, face down, yet with hands raised in fervent prayer. There were moments when I questioned their sanity—how could they endure such hardships and still wear a smile? Their actions seemed beyond belief.

With time, I came to realize that a mother's duty is to pray for her children, especially when those children lack the words, understanding, or insight to pray for themselves. Mothers stand in the gap, interceding for their children's connection to the Creator, their gifts, and their lives, much like the hands of the universe intercede for us. A praying and virtuous woman, her value surpasses that of the most precious rubies. A praying mother is more precious and valuable than all the riches in the world. Just as the Creator guides us, mothers help their children navigate life with love, wisdom, and unwavering support. They make tough decisions, offer encouragement in difficult times, and love unconditionally. The love of a true mother is perhaps the closest earthly manifestation of the Creator's love.

As a mother, you find yourself sacrificing time, sleep, and resources. Fear and worry can become constant companions. Yet, when you embrace the mantle of a praying and virtuous mother, these sacrifices transform into beautiful gifts, shaping the lives of those you hold dear. With surrender comes freedom. Although this may sound paradoxical, nothing could be truer. Every mother must understand that her children ultimately belong to the Creator; they are part of the universe. There comes a time when she must relinquish their care into the hands of the loving Creator. It is the Creator who gives and sustains life.

Reflecting on my own journey, my mother and grandmother walked me to the door of the universe's higher realm. They were not perfect, but they ensured I had a spiritual foundation and relationship with the Creator. These spiritual pillars have kept me from drowning in darkness. I share this reflection not to boast or induce guilt, but to encourage mothers, aunts, sisters, cousins, and grandmothers to become prayer warriors, to embody the virtues of a praying woman. Our community desperately needs your faithful prayers and virtuous actions more than any material wealth you could offer.

The abundance of spiritual wealth you possess is immeasurable, and I urge you to claim this wealth and power. We, as a community, need you and your steadfast prayers. Your role is invaluable and royal; you are not lowly beings but pillars of strength and grace. I think of the mother of the universe, who cradles all creation in her loving arms, guiding and nurturing us with divine care. In her, we find the ultimate model of a praying and virtuous mother.

My personal experiences are a testament to the profound impact of a praying mother. I remember times of intense struggle and uncertainty, where my mother’s prayers provided a beacon of hope and strength. Her whispered prayers in the quiet of the night, her fervent pleas during moments of crisis, and her unyielding faith in the Creator's plan—these are the legacies she left me. Even in her absence, I feel the resonance of her prayers, like an echo that never fades.

The love and care of my mother and grandmother, much like the boundless love of the universe’s mother, taught me resilience, compassion, and the power of faith. Their prayers were the unseen hands that lifted me, the silent force that propelled me forward. They taught me that prayer is not just a ritual but a lifeline, a direct connection to the Creator’s grace and mercy.

In honoring their legacy, I find myself urging every mother to embrace her divine role as a prayer warrior. Your prayers are the lifeblood of your children's spiritual and physical well-being. Your virtuous actions are the foundation upon which their lives are built. As you pray, know that you are weaving a tapestry of divine protection and blessing over your family. Your prayers are a powerful force that transcends time and space, reaching into the very heart of the universe.

To the mothers reading this, remember that you are not alone. You are supported by the hands of the universe, by the divine presence that sustains all life. Your prayers are heard, your sacrifices are seen, and your love is honored. You are the unsung heroines of our world, the silent warriors whose prayers move mountains and shape destinies.

In the end, it is not the material wealth we leave behind that matters, but the spiritual legacy we impart. The prayers of a mother, her unwavering faith, and her virtuous life are the greatest gifts she can give her children. These are the treasures that endure, the riches that cannot be measured in earthly terms.

I stand here today, a testament to the power of a praying mother. My life, shaped by the prayers and virtues of my mother and grandmother, is a living proof of the Creator's grace. Their legacy continues through me, and through every prayerful and virtuous mother who reads these words and takes them to heart.

This reflection is a call to action, a plea for every mother to recognize her invaluable role in the spiritual and physical realms. Your prayers are powerful, your love is transformative, and your virtue is a beacon of hope. Embrace your divine role, for you are more precious than rubies, and your prayers are a lifeline to the Creator’s boundless love and grace.
